The creator and presenter of Wonder Woman TV has been busier than ever recording the pilot to the series as well as hosting events for the Royal Television Society and appearing in glamorous maternity evening dresses on the red carpet at awards show. Here she gives us an insight into her busy life.
What are you working on at the moment?
Launching a new inspirational talk show that champions the stories of trailblazing women who work in the tech, media and music industries. And growing a baby! Who says we can’t do more than two things at once.
Who is the woman that most inspires you?
Michelle Obama inspires me massively. It would be incredible if she ran for President of the United States in the future. Could you imagine the global impact?! She’d be fabulous!
What does feminism mean to you?
Ultimately, equality. We have a responsibility as adults to teach the next generation of children the importance of this, as only then will we achieve change.
Do you think there’s equality between men and women in your industry?
We are certainly seeing an improvement in the industry thanks to initiatives driven by PACT, the RTS and the Women in Film & Television Network who are championing change and creating new opportunities to improve diversity.
The theme of this years IWD is #BeBoldforChange. So, if you could change one thing about the world what would it be and why?
Equal pay for women in all roles across all industries. I still find the disparity between people doing the same job but being paid differently solely because they are either male or female absolutely outrageous.
What is the best career advice you’ve ever received ?
Be kind to everyone you meet on the way up, as you’ll meet them all on the way down.
What’s the best thing about being a woman in 2017?
Having the power of technology to create our own opportunities to inspire the next generation of women.
What advice would you give the next generation of talent who would love to be in your position?
Be tenacious, follow your passions and carpe diem!
